3 trees from evergreen gardenworks

Just opened the package, what should I do next? Species left to right: sieboldi crabapple, amur maple, korean hornbeam. Should I add extra soil to the maple and should i pluck out the grass in the crabapple? What are my next steps for development? The hornbeam seems kinda loose in its pot not sure what to do.

They often remove some soil to ship so can definitely add a bit of soil to cover roots. Seems like water fertilizer and let them grow. This is what I have done with trees from them. All been healthy trees from them for me

Got it will add soil now. I’m surprised they look decent considering they shipped from cali to me during a heatwave. Should I move to pond basket next season?

I have not used pond baskets myself so can’t answer that but seems like deciduous tend to need more water and pond baskets would dry out more than normal pot but looks like your in Midwest so probably similar weather to me. Others might have info on that but myself I tend to repot new tree I get following spring during the right season and get it in a known soil for me and allows getting roots started right.

Sounds good, what soil would you recommend for development? Also how tall should I let the tree grow that will allow me to keep lower branches?
