The one I am talking about was an indica--a layering that had formed an awesome base and was just about a free standing plant to begin with.The bonsai on display at the BBG actually belong to the Alabama Bonsai Society. . . I think we have one azalea left, but it's smaller; maybe 14" tall with a 4-5" trunk . . .We do still have a Natal Plum that was purportedly styled by John Naka. It's big, but rather unkempt.

The height sounds a little short from my memories of it. Was a lovely informal upright with some lovely arms. In flower it almost mocked a
rosey spoonbill settling onto the water. Pity if it was lost to stupid.
