I posted in the what did you do today thread a few days ago. I had been eyeing some Bald Cypress at Lowes to go on clearance. I stopped by and saw a couple of them and grabbed this one. Took it home and chopped it.

I read through a bunch of old threads on BC, watched some videos, and the next day I went and got the other one. It is a bit smaller and has less taper than the one I picked first. I chopped this one at Lowes.

What size is the container you used for the larger tree?

It is a mortar mixing tub from Lowe's with drain holes drilled in it. I had a ficus in it a long time ago. Hated it because it's so heavy and awkward to move, swore I'd never want a tree in it again.

Pardon me with a photo dump but I took a morning trip to Wigert's. It's amazing how a month ago I had nearly zero interest in acquiring any Bald Cypress but after seeing more I nearly dug out my credit card....but I controlled myself and took pictures instead. Plus, my back.

I have a clearance BC as well to do lol. Not as big but close to yours. I think I am going to cut mine really low like only a couple inches and maybe go for a multiple trunk. It was cheap to if it dies it’s not much of a loss.

I took the Babcock Ranch Eco tour today. So here's another photo dump. Most of the swamp is dry, so I got a really good look at some of the knees. The last picture with water in it....look at the base of the trees closely.

Hoo ya Chere! Ma mom-en-em cube up da gator meat, put da spice an cornmeal on it, deep fry, and toss it into a poke sallet. Getcha som-dem palmetto hawts in da sallet too. Ahhhhhh-iiiii!
