This was my first attempt at a forest. It needs work but it brings me serenity. What do you think? I would love feedback.

Bringing you serenity is the whole point!

My 2 cents:
Maybe add moss or let it spread to more of the ground.
Maybe remove the moss between the figures, allowing a little path they use to get to where they are. I've seen some people use sand or a different colored soil for the footpaths.
As you develop the trees, maybe do something that brings them together visually, such as going for similar styling, while keeping them different sizes.

With three trees it always feel open. My first attempt at a forrest had the same issue with 5 trees. The second attempt more than doubled that.

I added a bit more. So I totally screwed up the wiring of this slab. 😂

Nice start.

Next time or at repotting think about negative and positive space in the planting trees spaces widely and evenly look static for the most part

Placing the trees closer together and using negative space (unoccupied space) adds to the illusion.

Forest bonsai are not easy. Spacing trunk size and I agree are keys

I love negative space. Good thing they aren’t really settled in. The wiring was all wrong.

I’m trying to make mounds. I started over. I think the wiring is 1.5 and I didnt know what size cuttings I would be getting when I bought them online.

Just curious if anyone has thoughts and tips on using stakes to add more trees? Without having to rewire anything?
