I was very lucky to collaborate on the making of this pot with Tom Benda. He built this here in Spain with me watching and learning, I fired and glazed it. I am super happy that it will be on display as part of the EBPC. European Bonsai Potters collective Display at the Trophy exhibition in Genk Belgium next February.

First build of the New Year. Classic Japanese design in a really nice red clay from here in Spain. Fingers crossed for a successful dry and firing

I built this one with the indent being the floor. So the walls were built slight in of the floor. We will see if it holds up in the firing

I love the yellow pot except for the "ears". What is the intent? Are they in a particular style or traditional form?

Sorry, I mean no offense. I like the glaze and love the embossing, but the hardles in a style I'm not familiar with lose it for me

Basically it was my interpretation of a a very old pot I found in a bonsai pottery book. Apparently this would have originally been an incense burner. I just liked it and wanted to make it. No offence taken

The floor is actually the indent. I jsut built the walls slightly in.

New shohin bonsai potters – Martine Geoffroy and Nick Hopes - Shohin Bonsai Europe

New pots show up now and then. There are many talented potters around, and one new to me I spotted at the recent Trophy event in Genk, Belgium. Her name is Martine Geoffroy and comes from France. Another one I have followed on Instagram for some time is Nick Hopes. A great guy I had
