Look, my stuff isn't perfect either. I try to make it perfect, though. If someone points out something I've done poorly, I say thank you for pointing that out! I was unaware! (And often I am!). Then I try to do better next time. Maybe do it over. That's how you improve.
But, hey, it appears many on this site aren't interested in improving. I am. I'm always trying to learn how to do bonsai better. And when I discover something that helps me, I share it.

We're just yanking your chain in good fun (I am, at least). But really, not every wiring job has to be "show quality." Sometimes quick and dirty is good enough. And that may include a few crossed wires or even guy wires.

Yes I feel the same way - @Adair M "it appears many on this site aren't interested in improving" that is being very melodramatic. You post something like this all the time and it gets old when you come across high and mighty. I been on the site a while and you should realize that I know what I'm doing, hey it's the internet sometime I let loose and just let things hang out.

That's true. To an extent. What's the difference between "Quick and Dirty" and "Sloppy"?
I mean, "show quality" should have every twig wired.
I get that. He didn't need to go there. But for training, the wiring should be effective. Right? If it's not effective, why do it at all? Loose wiring is not effective. Or maybe I should say, not AS EFFECTIVE as proper wiring.
But when he goes on to say that he is really good at wiring and "proves" it with a photo with more flaws, what that tells me is he doesn't know what proper wiring is.
I know you guys are pulling my chain. I used to think I was pretty good at wiring, too. Until I saw some really good wiring! My wiring is still not as good as I want it to be. But I try to put every piece on properly. Sometimes I find I messed up. Maybe I started with a too short of a piece. Maybe I picked the wrong two branches to wire together. Maybe my anchor isn't firm enough. And it doesn't work. I study what's wrong, and figure out where I messed up, then remove it and do it over. It's how I learn.
Alas, I have derailed the thread away from it being about the JWP to wiring, which I did not intend to do.
Giga, do please update us with how your tree develops and how the second flush of growth fairs. I have had some JWP do something like that, and then suddenly die on me! I hope yours doesn't do that.

I don't know... I suppose if you had said something like, "yeah, it put it on under the influence of a few beers..." Or something like that, it would have been funny.
Oh well, we've beat this dead horse enough.
I apologize for being "high and mighty". That's a symptom of my ADHD. Wiring is one of the things that I hyper focus on. (I can't explain why I hyper focus on some things but not on others.)
I hope you turn that tree into something special!

you see but that's the problem with this site, things are so tense here that people tend to expect the worst intent behind a post...not saying GIGa did that here, he's also way cool in my books.
I guess with such a close knit large community on here you are bound to get some conflicts....sometimes...so don't take it hard mr Adair you love perfect wiring and you care enough to want other people to have perfect wire on their tree too. That's telling me you have enough people skills and that is why I am in IT, my work PC can't argue with me about a line of code lol, I actually had to go on a training session to learn how not to be too straight forward with stakeholders when they ask me to do something obscurely stupid. I use to tell them straight up they don't know what they are talking about they will mess up my systems so off I went to learn how to break it to them in a more civilized manner lol. I KNOW where you are coming from. I think GIGA might have taken it a wee bit too seriously....then again it's a great learning curve to learn how to handle people like us lol!
but arghhh whatever I need to go re-wire some trees before I post them up

my pseudo housecat ate the dogz and ended up fighting the honey badgers though....cat lost so now I have a damn bee farm in every uro imaginable...my bonsai will never be the same again...
