Sorry to hear that it has not improved. I think it is a lost cause but I would just leave everything alone and hope for the best. The chance is very slim though. I hope you have other trees in case this one didn't make it. This is a lifelong hobby have a few more to go out and enjoy the...

Japanese Maple Droopy Leaves after Air Layer

Did the medium in the air layer part of the tree got dried out? If not I afraid the top is going to die fairly quickly... a total collapse of all the leave and the trunk/limbs will start turning black.

Unusual Dissectum Japanese Maple Niwaki Start

Is that a dissectum JM? I don't see any trait of dissectum in the leave at all. It looks more like the weeping palmatum that @Cadillactaste has (I have one too but can't seem to recall the name right now). That should look really nice in the future.

At this time, I would put it where it gets morning sun and water when the soil looks dry and not doing anything else.

Thank you for updating the thread. It seems to look worse than before... that means it not going in the right direction. I never have good outcome from a tree that drooped their leave like yours. Fingers crossed.

    Troubled Trident Maple

All the dried up leave look like it has an extreme case of fungus. As DSD said, the second flush is forming... which is a good sign. Cool little tree. Hope it will make it.

    Very old Nippon Daisy/Montauk Daisy

One of the issues I have with this specie is that they shed the old/matured branches and regrow the young ones closer to the trunk. The example of that is the this same tree before you did the clean up.

    Freeze warnings next few nights

I find that plants that are in the shade or covered by patio or whatever will fare much better than the ones that are not. If you can't move them, you will need to cover them with something.

All the needles are dropping. If it has not been on the dry side and extremely hot then the root is compromised. You be lucky if it live.

    Red Chojubai Starter

Am not sure if it will be alive if it has to stay inside for a whole month. How cold is the low at this time of the year for you. If it above 35 degrees, I think it is safer to put it outside. Flowering quince can take the cold very well... they should not have much issue with freezing - 32 F.

Looking for a fruiting apple bonsai/pre-bonsai

Why don't you go to House of Bonsai and see what they have to offer. They have all kind of pre-bonsai that won't let you leave empty handed. It always better to see the tree before you spend the money.
