New bench area

I love it. A beautiful garden where we can really see our trees is underappreciated.

The programmer in me wants to automate the opening/closing of the doors based on wind speed. Put the doors on springs that hold it open, and get a mini windmill to close the doors when the wind speeds up

I actually want a retractable roof.... lol
 
So beautiful and serene. I would just go out there all the time and just disappear into bliss.

They are frames a metal working friend has built, he did the other ones for the other space as well, they are aluminum, covered with coroplast, as is the background. There will be two more sliding doors that will store behind those two that are static, so I can close them in strong winds, which we get here a lot. I’ll update to show those when we install them. There will also be shade cloth on the side that can be deployed for wind as well.

So, are you guys planning on staying put? My first thought when I saw it, (ok, second after how nice it looked) was that you were keeping that husband of yours busy. "The enabler" Ha!

right now it's a lot of work! But when it's done, it'll be a great place to just be.

Decided to stay, better for a lot of reasons, and we have lots of tools... Bill likes building stuff.
 
Finished up the first space today and have a start on the old area that’s going to match. The green electric fence will be changed out to white so it’ll be less obtrusive. I have all the trees jammed into this space while we redo the other side. I’m very happy that the sprinkler system is more hidden with the supply line coming from the front instead of the back, and the door panels slide so nice in the new tracks.

@jevanlewis happy to be infecting others with my particular strain of the bonsai bug...
@Zac Thanks! Right now several of them are just starting to re-bud and re-leaf from defoliations, so a little bit of awkward stage...
 
This is clean, elegant, spacious. It's obvious you put some serious thought into the design. I love it. Bookmarked for future inspiration of my own piece of peace in the future.
