When people say pancake nebari isn’t naturalCrape myrtle at my work has crazy nebari. This one is also blooming early. I have no idea where it gets water from.

My guess is water level was higher at one point, and they ground layered themselves.Black Willow trees living in/on NY freshwater ponds. Looks like they grow aerial roots to aid with stability; my best guess. Pretty amazing how the fallen trees even grow new roots right out of the upper trunk and thick branches.
