Though I'd love to believe so, I think we're going to be feeling the pain for quite some time. The Federal Reserve owns $5.7 TRILLION dollars in securities, and though they have slowed the pace with which they are buying them, they haven't discussed their plans for unraveling their position. Once they start selling, interest rates are going up... and fast. You can't have artificially low interest rates forever, and this time the correction is going to be a big one.
I'm thinking five years. Perhaps more. Just depends how quickly they decide they are going to start unwinding the clock.
