New bonsai garden, including koi pond!

City water.

I’ll have to ask if it’s chlorine or Chloramine.

Update:

It’s gas chlorine. Shouldn’t be a problem. It’ll be gone soon.

I seriously doubt that Adair! But... I can always bring a couple of dynamite sticks and go blast fishing! 😜
Wait... are you saying you want to join the Redneck Study Group?

It’s filling up:

I let the water run until about midnight last night.

Started again about 7:30 am. The fish cave in the deep section is covered. And water is beginning to seep thru the gravel in the channel to the smaller pond section. That will take a while, and then once it gets there, it has to fill the smaller pond where the skimmer is.

It’s kinda cool to watch it fill up.

I’m also filling the bog. It has a huge storage basin under the gravel that has to fill up. I think once that gets filled, and the water level rises to the gravel section, it should fill fairly quickly. Then that hose can be directed into the main pond.

Film at 11.

Where’s the lap lane?

Well, it’s not really designed to be a swim pond. Not deep enough! But, I’m sure I’ll take a dip in it occasionally! They do make swim ponds. They call them “recreation ponds”.

Hey, Roy Clark was one of the nicest guys I ever worked with, talented guy and surrounded himself with some very fine musicians!
And he was an incredible guitarist!

Any plans for pines, cherry, or ume to be planted as part of the landscaping? It looks really nice!

Yes, to all of the above. Nothing specific, I do want a couple cherry trees around back.

I’ve got my eye on a couple of pond cypress and Bald cypress for the bog. I’m sure I’ll have several Japanese maples. Already bought a couple “blue rug” junipers to stick between some boulders. (I hate procumbens, won’t plant those!)

Adair are those extra large rocks aside for the landscape? I'm sure you know to plant them as well. Looking spectacular my friend!
Yeah, they’re spread around so the pond won’t look like a pile of rocks with nothing else around.
