I been finding myself doing right proper Mirai Live inspired work.
And that is just off the free vids!

I know I can't be the only one to be reaping the benefits of this instruction.

Please Post your Mirainspirations.!

...........

I'm starting with a Thuja I got via Mirai....
Via...it's an interesting story.

After watching the Spring Fundementals a while back....
I went out on a Moss collecting trip.
Bone dry, no good moss....
But I found a screen tank lid great for sifting soil!
And this Thuja in the garbage!

So I did what any respectable bonzo dumbass who hasn't grown a Thuja would do....

I walked it's near 50lb 5-7 6ft trunks ass about 5 blocks home!

Imagine you are sitting at your dining room table and you see a tree walk down the sidewalk! Lol!

All but 2 of the trunks were dead...
After carefully removing a bunch of grey dusty dirt
(Nothing wonder these always die)
It all fell apart and these were left.

Saw them roots today.
New green.

This is THE lamest bit of Mirai inspired work I have.
But I've been dying to tell this story!

And wow these are beautiful!

Norf Norf....represent Thuja!

Simple things.....

The blue rug joint made me dig around this...

20170731_111553.jpg

Now all of a sudden it has a future!

This Gold Star I think it is....
Started putting on scale foliage...

20170731_111404.jpg

Can't have that!
I put the f to it some.
I bought it to literati the left trunk....
But the other is wicked movey too.
Repotting next summer.

I feel so empowered.

What was fjhktirowjxnvkgodie.
Is now...
A...b...c...d...e...f...g.g.g.g.g.g.g.g.g.g.g.growgrowgrow!

After watching mirai work with that hopeless blue rug juniper I decided this erc was not as hopeless as I thought. Adult foliage on top 80% of tree is a plus but the thing has an entire side with no branches.

Only till you twist that trunk around and get em in place!

Only question....CW or CCW?

Do it in August!

Use a tomato cage!

You can twist the bottom tie a branch off,
Twist it higher...tie a branch off....
Higher....tie yer!

Maters!

I promised her she could have the summer off. My shovel broke halfway through the collecting process. I used hand pruners to finish the job. It was on a shale cliff and I didn't feel like going home empty handed after the climb. Hack job for certain

Found this odd fungal looking thing on my thuja that I believe DOES have blight ....

But found no red in pictures....just brown,grey...

Thuja fruits....nope...

Thuja pollen cones?

Bloody hell!

Are they meant to mimic ladybugs?
I ask because my other sideways yard thuja gets aphids all the time and this can serve to attract breeding ladybugs? Thwart aphids aloft?

Or is this fungus and Google lied about this one picture I found of this in Poland?

A new discovery! Love Bonsai!

You see if I never brought this shit material home, or threw it out of someone convinced me....

I would have missed this JOY of discovery!

Heres to Europe's "Mexicans".
Illinois' Indiana...

Here's to White Sox Homeruns and Fireworks!

Dobje!

@sorce I think neem reduces the spread of fungi but I don’t think it actively cures fungal infections. Something equivalent to Cleary’s 3336 would be likely to clear up a fungal infection.

Something had killed off most of the trunks when I found it...

I believe I may have gotten it healthy enough last year for this to fight the blight, or whatever is turning it brown.

I think I'll spray it and, since it is highly disposable, snip and burn the brown and see if another year of Fish and love can't win.

Then throw it out next year! Lol! No plan yet!

Definitely getting my hands on a thuja this summer

Who buys a thuja like that, and chucks it into a dumpster in July???

Who Buys a Thuja for the landscape at all?

Eeeeeewwwww...

Why are they like the "New Yew" and why don't people see how shitty boring and ugly they are and that we will be tearing them up in about 10 years.

Barf trees.

Run of the mill Bullshit.

Hate em with a passion!

IMO! Lol!

I get the feeling like the Mirai live streams will be a huge resource, and help a lot of enthusiasts advance.
Sorce everybody has cedars here, they thrive!

Landscape thuja cedars? In the landscape!?

Thriving is the problem! Big ass ugly cone shaped blah...

If they aren't part of the Brown army that goes back to the Depot every spring.

Landscape Thuja are like the Mallsai of Landscaping.
Garbage!
Poo!

Love the Bonsai ones!

Thuja are cool in the wild and in bonsai pots but the cultivars they sell at Lowe's are only good for.,. Buying on clearance?
