Where Oh Where has our BT Gone

Not all of us sugar coat anything, I damn sure don't and neither does Al, if it looks like a duck..........

That's all very well, but can someone explain why I got banned and why all my posts and pics were erased, just like that, without an explanation?
The mod there must be some kind of lunatic.

Hmm, that is disturbing to me also. I'm not sure I like the prospect of having my posts deleted and username banned for disagreeing. I really like BonsaiSite personally, so this is confusing me a little. I see my posts as a history of my bonsai life, and would not want them removed. That's why I attempt to invest most of my time in sites that I think will continue to be up. I switched from BT to BonsaiSite and BNut over 6 months ago just for that reason.

Also, this seems to be developing into a catch-all topic for other bonsai sites. I think some of these conversations need to be split off into new threads.

Can you try and contact the mod by email? Maybe they'll bring you back if you promise to be a good boy and not disagree with the popular members.

Arrogant Americans, always thinking they need to impose their culture on others!

Sorry.. but that's good stuff coming from a guy from Germany regarding an art mostly associated with Japan. :D

This has nothing to do with whether my statements are correct or not, it is meant to make me look bad. Proves my point again.
But just for the record: I am not German but Austrian and bonsai is an international artform; if you insist on a label then it is a Chinese art.

Nothing to make anyone look bad. It was funny to me, I'm a big fan of irony. I don't insist on much of anything but bonsai is associated with Japan to most people that I know.

Location: south of Munich, Germany

Honest mistake.

Marc it looks like they have erased ALL of your old posts !!! At least I couldn't find any that used to be in threads I started. Why did you get banned ?

If you are banned, your posts remain. You can always be "unbanned" in the future.

If your account is deleted - ALL your posts are deleted as well :( It is an action that cannot be undone. To me this is a rather drastic action, unless you are a spammer who has never contributed anything worthwhile to the site.

Were you selling Canadian Meds online again Marc? :)

We certainly need more of this Harry!!!! The hobbyists seem to rule the roost here in the US and 5$ Home Depot stock is declared acceptable and everyone says "oh-nice tree". Perhaps it is a generalization--but even the hobbyists in Europe seem to hold everything to a higher standard.

We need to call junk "junk" and try to raise our game in this country. We could go along way down this road quickly by stopping the "Bonsai Correctness".

OK grog, how about having a beer together?

Now we're talking! I had a Stiegl (not sure on the spelling, been a while and we drank too many) hefeweizen type beer that was divine.

I would really like to know. If you could answer me in a private email I would like to know what you are supposed to have done.

That's true on so many levels, yet some of those who blow loudest about the trouble with bonsai forums are least likely to accept someone's blunt ideas about their trees. I've seen whole threads disappear when no one thought a tree was acceptable. I've been called down for calling a spade a spade even at knob and aob. So what's the answer? Do we call it what it is, or don't we?

I say that those of us who are serious draw a line in the sand and stop Bonsai Correctness.

Then when Walter and others come from Europe and elsewhere they can speak freely and frankly about our trees!!!

I certainly doesn't make me laugh. Wait until the grouper shows up again.

I posted on BS (Bonsaisite) to ask why member Marc S was banned. My post was removed and I received a PM telling me that they don't discuss reasons for banning members.
