First styling of this Utah Juniper that was collected by Tom Vuong. This was my first time working a Utah, I found the foliage to be much tougher than California Juniper foliage, but otherwise they’re very similar trees.

It's probably larger than I realize? What's the trunk diameter?

Great work though Rudd. Should make another great addition to your garden.

It’s only a 3” trunk. Finished height is 22” so it’s not very big.

I should clarify that when I say the foliage is tougher than California Juniper what I meant was less fragile. California foliage will fall off if you just look at it the wrong way. This Utah foliage is not nearly as delicate, it’s much easier to work. Smells terrible though.

I found Sabina foliage to be the same way. So dam sensitive.

Looks similar to a Sierra I collected this year. Thanks for the inspiration, looks great! I’d like to go in a similar direction if this guy pulls through.

Cat pee! I once had my truck die while I was collecting Utahs at White Mountain. I had to buy a replacement or be stuck in Bishop. The new truck didn't have a shell so all the junipers rode home in the back seat, Smelled so bad I had to have the windows open all the way home.
