Bonsai soil and Pre-bonsai soil

Here I can find it for about 100-125USD per cubic yard (so about 50-65 cents per gallon).
Just chiming in with another data point from Oregon. Pumice can be had for ~$55 a yard, or if you don't want so much at a time, $6 for a 5-gallon bucket. I don't have anywhere to dump a yard of rock, so it's by the bucket for me.

I use majority or full pumice for all my early development trees.

In Western Washington, I pay $80 for a full yard which is 200 gallons. 40¢ per gallon almost literally dirt cheap.
I'm not too far from Seattle, but the nurseries around Whidbey only sell tiny, overpriced bags. Where do you get your pumice from?

River Road Landscape Supply in Puyallup. There’s probably somewhere up north, but I’ve gotten it from the one place.

Much appreciated! I wanted to check out Bonsai NW, so that gives me another good excuse to schedule a trip that way.
