Anyone advise for or against bringing some of my smaller deciduous trees inside to get a jump start on the growing season? I have a grow light and 70°F room. It's just an idea I had since I'm biting at the bullet to see some fresh green leaves this season!

I would not.

Agree with the above posters.
Best not to force a tree
Not a good idea to keep it inside more than a few days and if it starts leafing out, it's too cold to put back outside

Deciduous trees that leaf out in a sheltered evironment push thinner leaves weaker shoots. A day inside won’t hurt. But forcing new growth inside can result in scorched foliage and wilting shoots when the tree is placed back outside in wind and sun.

Thanks for the replies guys! I'm sure alot of people remember their first few years of running cruel experiments on cheap material. It's good to have the B Nut community to check with first. I guess the best thing to do instead is place them in a green house?

The best thing to do is be patient and let nature do what nature does on its timing, not your timing or what you would like the timing to be

Let them alone. Period. A greenhouse is still a sheltered environment. Let they stay outside. Stop trying to “do” stuff to them to make them fit your schedule. That is a recipe for disaster
