Grew some of these Konara (Quercus serrata) from acorns collected from a tree at my local park last year, so I went and collected 30 or so good ones and split them across 3 slit pots. They've since been covered with a little more akadama.
I've already got a bunch of bendy individuals from last year that grew under mesh, so I think this time around I'd like to attempt some clumps for this contest. Due to the nature of how these germinate (with a little sack) clumps might be challenging, but I'm looking forward to trying.

Looking forward to seeing some little oaks.

Are we allowed to do clumps? I wanted to do some trunk fusing but I think the rules say we ultimately have to pick a single tree.

Definitely up for a clump-off :D Providing anything germinates for me. This is my first attempt with acorns..

Seems I have roots poking out the bottom of the slit pots. Looks like we're off to the races. Now to wait and see how many come up in the spring.
