I have to really recommend ‘Back Garden Bonsai’. Small channel but excellent content imo.

I really love the format of the vids. Each is essentially a summary of a trees progression over the prior year or longer with month on month footage including, repots, pruning, styling etc. Many of the tree have been grown from seed or taken from cuttings. The great thing is you see the work being done, then you see the result. What’s more is there’s usually 3 or 4 vids on the same tree on a playlist so you can watch about 5 years worth of progress in about half an hour. Very satisfying to see outcomes as well as the work that goes in.

Really enjoy the channel and think the creator deserves more than his 5k or so followers.

I've been inspired to try a lot of different things by this channel

I’ve been enjoying bonsaiQ lately
I just wish the automatic Japanese-to-English translation software that generates their subtitles worked better. It can be hard to make heads or tails of what’s being said on their videos. When they’re demoing a technique, it’s not that big of a deal because you can just watch what they’re doing. But, when they’re explaining a principle, the “why” behind what they’re doing, much is lost in translation. Still worth watching though.

Eric Schrader on the Bonsaify channel never disappoints. Theres also Bonsai Releaf who makes great content, although infrequent.
Agreed on this:

I enjoy his stuff, it's short, focused and on point - and useful.

Yeah and Shinshi brings that technical knowledge.

It seems like mostly they are just telling jokes. Super nice guy and taken the time to respond to any of my inquiries. If you haven’t already you should check out his website. There’s some really cool info on doing group plantings where they use kanji as a guide to placing groups of trees in a forest planting.

The best is the youtube bonsai shorts rabbit-hole, when you enter it you can find very weird stuff hahahha 😂

@Eric Schrader is a member and posts from time to time. His info is top notch.

If you don't find this highly applicable to Bonsai, you're not paying attention!

I agree with @Dogwood87 Back Garden Bonsai is excellent, with one video every Sunday - I love the routine
I am a subscriber to Eisei-En, the content on Bjorn’s platform is just what I need for my level (intermediate). Some of that content is shared on YouTube as a teaser!
