My 3 Yoshino trees are young. The first few sets of leaves are small, but the next 3 sets are giants ! At least 3 times as big. I haven't fertilzed , that I remember lol. How do I reduce the size of the leaves? I don't want to risk killing them.

I snipped off 2 leaves on one of my yoshinos, they haven't re-leafed.

At this stage of growth, and especially at this time of year, I wouldn't worry about trying to reduce leaf size.

Pruning growing tips makes the next buds grow.

There is some poorly written or translated text out there that could make one think "releafing" is a thing.
What really happens is that bud, if there is one, grows into a new branch, with leaves. Thing is this tends to happen in cycles, surely spring and post hot summer, on a smaller natural cycle with the moon, and depending on the type of tree and how you care for it, according to pruning cycles as well.
I time my pruning cycles to before this spring and fall growth.

It's kinda late in "fall" to induce new growth that wouldn't otherwise be there.

Pics!
