I have some slight yellowing on my shimpaku kishu nursery stock and I’m wondering if this looks normal?

Bought about a month ago from a local bonsai nursery. They were selling them under shade cloth so I transitioned to sun slowly. It’s planted in what looks to be some sandy soil with bark chips on top (too late in season to repot). It gets morning and mid day sun and I usually water every 2-3 days (when the soil on top is dry and soil at bottom by the drain holes looks to be slightly starting to dry)

I know there’s a lot of posts about this but the ones I’ve read all seem more extreme situations and/or are planted in a bonsai specific substrate with a larger tree so most people seem to water daily.

Just want this little guy to make it till I can repot next spring. I am starting to get some growth at the tips so he’s not completely miserable… but still really trying to Any help is appreciated.

The middle of summer is about the time junipers drop their old and weak foliage. This is normal.
