I put this native muscadine in the ground two years ago to fatten up the trunk. It grew like a weed! The trunk has since more than doubled in size. I think I'll pot it up this spring. The trunk is a bit over 2" at ground level. It may be bigger below the soil line. The building it's climbing on is about 9 feet high. Some branches have extended over 12" from the base. All of this growth happened this growing season. I cut it back to 4" branches this spring. It grew just about the same amount of foliage last year. The trunk will need some carving.
