Andrea Meriggioli's Bonsai Maples Book
Hi fellow Bonsai Nuts, do any of you know where I can get a copy of Andrea Meriggioli's Maple Bonsai Book? I live in California and have not had any luck finding a copy of that book. I have read that its a great book and would love to get my own copy of it. Thanks for your help.

I went to his website and it wouldnt ship to me via ordering in the site, so I found his email on there and emailed him to get one.

Beware, it will be expensive as he ships via air courier and it's coming from Italy. I ordered one from him and I got it in like 4 days which is amazing since it has to come from Italy.
Make sure you specifically ask for the English version if that is what you want

All my maples need to grow first although I did recently pick up a larger Japanese maple I’m trying to air layer

As I'm sure you know if you're here in US, you cant unless there is a way to quarantine for 2 years and then shipping it in bare rooted is very risky.

I emailed him yesterday he got back with me this morning. He asked for my address and phone number and if I have PayPal. I answered him giving all the info he asked for. He responded back several hours later saying he can ship me a signed copy to my door step for 170€ which comes out to $181 and some change. All I have to do is send him the money through friends/family on PayPal and then he'll ship it out. He said it should only take 3-10 days to receive.
I was expecting the book to be pricey but almost $200 for a book is it really worth that much? That's more then what I've paid for my trees. I have all pre bonsai. I'm getting some maples so that's why I'm interested in the book since keep seeing people saying it's a must if getting into maple bonsai.

Most of that price is for shipping.
When I ordered mine, it came in 4 days.
He sent it via DHL air courier which I think it's to make sure it gets here fair quickly.
That is expensive. I don't think he can just send via mail, there is no USPS in Italy.
Up to you whether you feel it's worth that cost.

So I decided to pull trigger and order the book. With PayPal exchange rate fees it came to a whopping grand total of $192.92. I hope I get the book since don't get package protection with sending it through friends/family.
I'll be anxiously waiting for the book to show up I can't wait to read it.

@Zac It is expensive but in my opinion, absolutely worth it if you are interested in maples. And it's not just about refining mature trees, there is a ton of information with really detailed pictures on every aspect of development of the tree. I find myself going back and rereading chapters to brush up on techniques all the time.
