But ask yourself why you want one? Manzanitas are notoriously awful for bonsai. While they are very beautiful in nature, in a container they are slow growing, very picky about soil type and moisture, require lots of sun, and they do not tolerate root work at all.

Stay away from organic soils, and don't mess with the roots... ever Oh, and they're nitrogen fixers, so no nitrogen fertilizer, either
