When should I collect seeds off of my Trident maple? The wings are starting to turn brown now in early September.

Thanks,
Jeff

If there brown they are most likely ripe and good to go.

I could throw in a used thong to get a box full that big?

These went into the fridge back in September after a 24 hour soak.

You have kept them warm for the past few weeks?
Here nothing is showing :(

It is raining wet snow here right now...
I knw the view.. Just spent the last hour in the * weather, wiring a malus.
But it is also the reason I asked.. Could not imagine germination of tridents now already without additional heat!

I thought it weird yes ;)
Got zillions of fraxinus seeds here, not a single one has germinated yet...
How very brave of you to go outside! Cancelled the field maple collecting plans because of the rain :(

I had them in the fridge until just a few days ago. About a dozen or so had started to put roots out so I planted them out. We've been in the 70's the past week or so.

A few others have put leaves out now as well.
