When should I start to fertilize my 2 week old seedling?

It is a Delonix Regia that I am keeping indoors until the weather permits otherwise. This is the first tree seed that I’ve planted.

Also, what kind of fertilizer should I use and should I put it in another “pot”. This one came with the kit and I’m not sure how sufficient it is.

I have attached a current picture, of the Delonix Regia seedling below. Thank you!

Oh wow, thank you! Didn’t realize I had that much time before I needed to start to add fertilizer. Is there a certain kind of fertilizer that you would recommend when it is time to start?

Also, the current container that it is in does not have drainage holes. Should I change containers because of this? If so, when is the best time?

I’m brand new to this so I couldn’t possibly give any reliable advice, but I wouldn’t be concerned about your seedling if I were you. It’s sprouting and that’s a good sign to me.

Are you keeping yours indoors or outdoors? If indoor, do you have an artificial light or a good south window that pours in a good amount of sunlight for your sprout? I only ask because the game changer for me was when I added artificial light indoors. It literally seemed to sprout overnight and the growth just continued.

Artificial light has had a noticeable difference for me with my seedlings. Definitely helps during these winter months.

Quercus and Hibiscus at moment... a bunch more still in fridge.

The quercus i had growing prior to light had new growth from seedling turn brown and dry up. The sapling with light is growing strong with nice small leaves forming.

My hibiscuses were, i thought, never going to germinate. I put the light on near the pot and one showed this morning two days after. Might be coincidence but im not sure. They had been in that pot for a good 4-6 weeks after soaking for 24 hrs and were at the tail end of what I had read was germination period.

I have about 15 seeds there.

That canvas/hessian kind of pot/bag should drain quite well itself because it's just fabric so I wouldn't worry about it, just stick it on a little dish so it doesn't stain whatever surface you have it on!

As already said your current "container" drains well enough. I'd let the seedling grow for a couple of weeks and when it"'s about 3-4 times the height of your container I'd cut of the canvas off and slip pot the entire thing in a bigger pot with well draining soil.

Oh ok, I guess I should have added that it came with a plastic lining already added in it. Is this still ok? Thank you so much for taking the time to answer!

Awesome! Great info - thank you!

The plastic lining in it will be a problem, I'd slip pot it in a bigger pot with enough drainage now.

Will do. Will this suffice? It has one drainage hole at the bottom.

Hard to tell how big that is! Alternatively you could just very carefully poke a few holes in the bottom of it's current container.

New to this as well, taking any advice! Inside with grow light as it's friggin winter here (2 inch of snow). Yes that what i figure to, it's growing so far so good! I do notice changes in it every day... so i will definatly be keeping eye on yours too, as a bench mark for mine..
