First off, hello all! Ive been following the forums for a bit now and started in bonsai in the beginning of this year. Had my first workshop and my first bit of material.

Last year we moved into a new house with an exsisting garden. Within that garden this plant. Next spring we are going to change the garden and that means clearing out some plants. Ive got no clue what it is and if its at all bonsai-material.

That is a yew, genus taxus. They can make very nice bonsai. Do a search here and you'll find all kinds of info and inspiration.

Thanks for identifying my plant:) From what I read its best to chop it short in the fall. And I should repot it in spring then?

The idea for a clump might be fun:) I dont have any thing styled that way yet, and seeing it has 5 trunks it might be a good start.

I also saw the 2.5 hour long workshop by Mirai which should give me all the inspiration I need:)
