Hello everyone.

I was repoting my elm and saw this white slimy stuff on the roots.
Any idea what this could be?

Thanks

Did you see any abnormality on the tree trunk?
Did you try to smell the slime substance?
It could be Slime flux due to bacteria or physical injuries to the base of the trunk.

Hi.

No smells. Tree is just coming out of dormancy so really can't tell if something is wrong.

To wet but harmless as the plant is still asleep, toss it in higher sun for a few days and it will powder off... I could go into a ten paragraph explination but easier to say more sun, not harmful ;)
