Western Red Cedar fallen branch cuttings, w/seeds…tips for best results ?

Found a broken branch in the parking lot at work from what I believe to be Western Redcedar. I took cuttings a am attempting to root these small ones together. The larger in water, I would like some advice as to how best try rooting the whole thing, if possible.

I have also collected some seeds from this branch, and stuck three into a small terracotta pot with soil. Any resource for best method of sowing the others I have, would be greatly appreciated ! Thanks for looking in !

I would go for a drive in the nearby rural areas. Lots of seedlings in fields, ditches etc. Much quicker progress than cuttings or seeds.

I'm pretty sure that's Thuja, not a juniper.
