Folks,

thus far, none of the seed we are growing has the quality of the Japanese
Seed Packs from Dallas Bonsai or Brooklyn Boy Bonsai.

Every one so far is weaker.

Don't expect to get the results of Bonsai Today.

Now testing in clay pots about 4 x 3 inches [ 10 x 8 cm ]
Well send more results in 3 momths.

If you need a reference ---- the soil mix, and everything is repeated as it
was in i987 - 1989, when we first started growing. Notes were taken
Image of Japanese seed pack included.
Good Day

Good News -

This pine has continued to grow as expected from Bonsai Today 12.

Now has 3 extensions and if it goes to the 3 feet [ 91 cm ] by
Christmas it may make the 2 to 3 inch [ 5 to 8 cm ] trunk
at possibly 6 years.
Good Day
Anthony

Will be taking hardwood cuttings after Christmas.

And you know this how???
Just very curious???

Hello @moke ,

simple, we use a seed tray with small compartments.

When the seedling stalk turns red, 6 to 8 weeks, if you let the soil mix go a
a little dry, the stronger seedlings can be carefully lifted out with all of the soil
mass intact.

The weaker seed usually has a very long root, that just runs.
which may be better for forestry, and the type good for bonsai starts
of with a shorter multi-root ?

Which may be the real reason the Japanese cut the root early on ?

I hinted at this earlier in either my J.B.pine log or someone else's.

Out of about 300 seedlings we now have 9 labelled - strong.

Hello @Smoke,

Al, I did leave several references to building furniture in Mayaro,
and that my time here would be less.
Not thirsty, just working.
Hope you are doing well.
Good Day

Lol!

I could ride a simple observation all the way to Anthony's side!

Simple Observation Goes A Loooong way!

Anthony, I told the Sorceress of how you reminded me to eat.

That is some amazing shit!
The fact that you knew that I wasn't eating properly in my artistic ferver.

That....you weren't supposed to know....
Yet you did....and you saved at least part of my life, if not all of it.

Island time....

Leads to Island Intuition.

The different parts of Bonsai I rely on different people to follow to apply that skill in my garden
Adair. Wiring.
Vance. Repotting.
BVF. Balance.
Grimmy. Acclimation.
Judy. Study. Lol! Learn and apply.
Crust. Quirk.
Walter. Quick.
Eric. Water.

Thought, Pondering, Observation, Peace...
A skill best learned from the Island!

Without which I wouldn't have figured out who my other mentors were.

Thats huge!

Sorce

@sorce ,

Ah but what happens when you get to the next part of the J.B.pine seed training.
Placing them in a container for this year and then a larger container next year
and just letting them grow for the 3 years.

Fertilising and watering and doing nothing else?

3 years and waiting for year 4.

For the action ..................
Good Day
Anthony
