Last one today, promise. This is a little ficus I got from Walmart that was so buried in sphagnum it looked like it had three trunks. I unburied it and stuck it in a little vintage Japanese pot I got on eBay. Here's where I'm really going to nerd out on you, it reminded me vaguely of a tree in a video game I used to play. So I decided I would try to develop it.

As acquired after repot(you can see the line where it was buried)

First styling session after it established itself into the pot.

As it was today in process of wiring.

Wired today.

Bonus points if you recognize the video game.

Nice looking Ficus.
My Wal-Marts around here don't have jack for plants.
I looked last week and they were just about out of anything.
Terrible plant dept.

I have to admit I laughed when I saw where you got it.
Just because of your user name.:)

I'm definitely not too proud to look through bug box store stock to find a gem or two. If I get time tomorrow I'll update with a Walmart Chinese elm. ?

I hear yah. I think I need to try a different Wal-Mart.
The one I shop at used to have a decent selection of plants.
You would have to look them over real close to find good plants but they were there.
Now it's nothing.

*Bonus points if you can make the trunk of your tree look like the one in that game*
