Viet Bonsai Today Society
Annual summer bonsai show, august 19-20 at Bao Quang temple, 713 N Newhope St, Santa Ana, CA.

Saturday demo by Tuan (Tom) Vuong at 1:00 - 3:00 pm, California juniper.
Sunday demo by Thuan Dinh at 1:00 - 3:00 pm, California juniper.
After demo the trees will be raffled off. Venders selling all tools, supplies, pre-bonsai trees, etc.
Please come and enjoy the show.

Thanks for posting, hope to see photos of the trees: Vietnamese bonsai are not like Chinese or Japanese bonsai, I'm curious to see if they retained some features of the local designs, to what extent they adapted their view of bonsai to their new homeland, and what we can all learn from them.
 
Here are some photos from the show. I did not buy any trees - before I even looked around the shimpaku and olive I was looking at were sold! Need to be faster next time! This was a "big tree" show - many trees I could not lift :)

Tom Vuong's gigantic orange pyracanthus. Base on this tree was about 8":

A big shimpaku that was about 4' tall. For perspective, the accent plant is a chojubai quince.

A big ole silverberry that puts mine to shame. I think this was also about 4'!
