This pot was made by Vic also known for Erin Pottery. I wasn't clear in the post or title. Which was brought to my attention later with one asking the maker to be cleared up. ;)

I absolutely LOVE it! Though...I see me holding off potting that Kojo No Mai until next spring...just knowing I have it is good enough for now. :o

Many steps...I know when I spoke to him it was drying. Then I contacted him about my being out of the country on a mission trip. So he wouldn't think I wasn't interested any longer if he didn't hear from me for two weeks and he tried communicating. But to the actual steps...no clue.

Hi Darlene, no problem. I'm glazing the crescent at the moment. It should go in the kiln next week. The firing cycle is 7 days so it will be mid May after the first firing. This glaze will probably need at least two firings.

Really cool. How do you make a pot like that? What's going in that?

I explained all I know about how it is made by attaching correspondence. Since it was commissioned and I am not a potter...I can't really give details of how it is made.

I plan to later put a "Kojo No. Mai" cherry in it. My avatar photo is the tree in bloom. But, here it is currently. Recovering from leaf damage from the hot sun. It will be tipped a bit...and look more like a cascade once potted.

There's no "HOPE" for that tree in the new pot. In other words, it doesn't look like your "HOPE" stone is going to fit in that beautiful pot. :D

Lol...I totally agree with you on that aspect. Guess it will find another home someplace else. I don't think I'll miss it when I look upon that pot Vin made. But...what is funny is...I thought the same thing once I seen the pot completed.

BTW, that "HOPE" rock is NOT a rock. ;) It is cast and will deteriorate soon.

Nice work! Do you mean Victor Harris from Erin or?

Yes...Erin Pottery's Vic. That is how he always signed our correspondence. He still isn't taking commissions...but, I had tried to buy a pot for it's color...and due to a glitch another person bought it after I had tried to make purchase. When I just wanted it's coloring for the cherry. I had planned on air layering and putting it into the smaller pot. When I told him that...he offered to make me one with that glazing process. So I was very fortunate to get this pot done. He is an amazing man...very cordial and very talented. So it was a win/win for me. For I had wanted a crescent and loved this color of glaze...and ended up getting my hearts desires by a glitch...and one amazing talented man who felt bad about it.

I bought several pots (15 I think) from Vic/Erin as well and I am very happy. Half of mine are commissioned pieces and he really worked with me start to finish, including updates and some changes/additions I requested.

I highly recommend him.

Yes, I recall you did a post after I asked about those pots. He is quite talented. You have a beautiful collection of pots.

He worked with me...helping me with the size of pot...and, that seeing the tree in bloom felt it must be feminine looking pot to carry it off. Fortunate for me...he had one drying that fit the bill.
