The third annual Art of Bonsai show is coming up in less than two months! Unlike last year, the show won’t be competing with prime beach weather, so you will be able to check out everything in the beginning of fall. Again this event is free to the public at Brookdale Community College from 10:00AM on October 4th to 4:00 PM October 5th.

Just like last year, Tidal Bonsai is displaying and vending starter material at a fair price. You can come find my table right near the main entrance (#6 on the map).

Also keep an eye out for some cork bark elm cuttings, pottery, a European hornbeam, and maybe some other surprises.

These are all prepared to be bonsai, and will fit into anyone’s budget.

Last day of the show today from 10-4! Come check out the trees and my vendor booth before this amazing show is gone!!!!

My vendor booth 6 is about half sold out, and today I will be working on a juniper I picked up at the show.

I sold about 75% of the starter stock that I brought, so I treated myself to two nice trees. This p. nana called to me from Rupesh’s booth! This one was especially exciting because it was a twin trunk (which is unusual for the species), a nice medium size, has lots of movement, and has tons of interesting deadwood! I started working on it at the show, but it isn’t done yet. Lookout for a progression sometime soon 💪

This standard AP was the maple that I took home from Steve V. I missed it amongst all the vendor trees until the last hour of the show. I was having a conversation with two of my buddies when I caught it out of the corner of my eye. It was love at first sight!!!
