Sapling
Last year I bought a couple of young chaenomeles in a garden centre as I liked their short internodes and small leaves.
The plants have been growing wonderfully this year with over a foot extension at a time whilst keeping the tight internodes and smaller leaves.
I think it is a chaenomeles japonica. Flowers are dark orange to red and the leaves have a very weird almost twistong margon on both plants. Leaves have no blemishes and I remember them having always looked like this.
Is anybody able to help understanding the variety or at least subspecies?
