This is the only native five needle pine here so I gave it a try.
On 6. 5. it received my standard hard cutback into needles.
It didn't make any needle buds but decent buds at the nodes.

Today I plucked some needles, it really didn't make a single needlebud but looks nice and compact at least the smaller one.
