Nice tree, I dont see the point of the thread graft though, the left branch is a perfect first branch

Regarding the thread graft one the right … this will be a short tree, just a couple more wiggles at the top to apex, maybe 4” to apex. The left branch will be the key branch as you mentioned Arnold. What this leaves me with is a rather straight and naked right trunk base. Would be nice to add a bit of heft to the base on right (grow it out) and later cut it back have this be a short accent branch. Keep you posted.
