Hey everyone!

I wanted to try something new this spring, so i went and collected half a dozen maple cultivar (as well as some paper birch)

Here's what i collected for maples (I think they're all silver maple, but i could be mistaken):
2 softwood - but almost lignifying cuttings with leaves
2-3 semi-hardwood cuttings with and without leaves
2 hardwood cuttings with and without leaves
2 small maples dug up, roots and all

Birch: just two hardwood cuttings, just to try them out

Also grabbed a few Willows, but i'm not worried about those rooting.

Here's what i've done so far, i soaked all the cuttings in willow water over night last night (i'm still not convinced willow water helps).
Today i planed all the cuttings in the bottoms of water bottles cut off, w/ drainage holes. I used just ordinary potting soil, but it's fairly fast draining and retentive.
currently all the cuttings are under my T5 grow lamp, and they get a bit of sun from a nearby window as well.

The two cultivar with roots were planted immediately last night in the same soil as above, watered thoroughly and set on a windowsill that gets medium filtered light for most of the day.

Any advice on getting these guys to root would be awesome. I have easy access to more cuttings as well, so i can experiment with them as i go. I also have two air layers on maples that i'll need to check soon as well.

thanks!
