Is anyone bringing their tropicals inside yet? I’m in zone 6b

Mine are also indoors. We started getting nights in the low 40s Sept 1. Leaves are still on the landscape trees, so windows that are sunny in winter are mostly shaded, less than great for the tropicals.

Mine are still outside for now but getting closer every day! I like to leave them outside as long as possible, but don’t like to expose them to temps much below 50F

I'm in 7b and should get at least another month. Last year I was able to keep them out until mid November.

Mine are still outside. Last night the temperature dipped to 49 but the forecast for the next week doesn't predict below 50 so they will stay out a bit longer.

I try to aim for the weekend of October 15 to bring them in. Last year they came in a week earlier because we had cold snap the first week of October. Might be coming in a bit earlier this year too, will see. Will definitely make sure their winter space is clean and prepared this weekend. Had some work done on the house and that space got disrupted so need to get it straight

I put mine out earlier than most in the spring and bring them in earlier than most in the fall. So long as the weather is above freezing, my Ficus spp. and Portulacaria afra are fine. My wife's lemon trees are less tolerant of frost. Obviously, as soon as the temperatures are at risk of dipping below freezing, I bring the trees indoors. Around here, that means I put my trees outside in April and bring them inside in November.

I have about 250 pre-bonsai and 2 dozen finished bonsai so bringing them inside is not an option. It rarely gets cold enough to develop frost here in southern Palm Beach County, however in Jan 1977 it did SNOW here. A neighbor ran his irrigation early in the morning and his Ficus trees had ice sickles all the way to the ground. Last "winter" it did not go below 45f and my 3 dozen Bald Cypress still had their leaves in Spring!

My forecast is still in the 50s at night and 70s during the day for the next 10 days or so thus I’m going to let it ride outside for a bit longer. Soon though.

Most things have been moved to the greenhouse. Hoping to get another month or 2 out of the growing season. The most sensitive would be the BRTs and they are doing just fine so far.

I’m hoping for another month outside like a lot of the other 7a/b folks. In general, my tropicals have been fine all the way down to almost freezing. As long as morning temps are still hitting 60s.

I'm in 7B and I brought mine into my greenhouse almost 2 weeks ago ahead of a projected low of 52°. My Murraya paniculata doesn't tolerate under 55 well, nor do my orchids. Temperatures have moderated since then but it's not worth the effort to yoyo them.
My citrus, bay and curry trees are still outdoors though.

Mine are still outside, we had a low 48F one day last week none of my tropicals seemed to mind. I'm hoping to make mid Oct but only mother nature knows if that will happen. :)

Not bringing mine in yet. Still in the low 80's here. I'm hoping for another month, outside. Last year I waited a bit and they saw some 40's. They are close to the house. I noticed that none of the BRT's or bougies did the massive leave drop that they had in the past, even my husband noticed since that is one of his pet peeves about trees inside. I'm going to try that again this year.

Damn it. We still in the high 90s all next week. Tired of seeing people already bringing in their tropical trees.

I have a set of wifi thermostat/humidors that are setup to give notifications when temperatures drop to 50°F. They're pretty nice, I quite like them, though I had to calibrate them quite aggressively, the humidity readings were all over the place.

We're getting close but, not quite there. I think the forecast is calling for a nighttime temps in the mid 40s tomorrow, so I may move my house plants in, followed by my ficuses.

I am just watching the weather forecast and take my tropical in before frost. So I usually keep my trees outside until the temperature get below 40 or sometimes even lower. So long as there is no frost I leave my tropical outside.
