Some pics from a recent visit to Gardens Unlimited in Va.

Fringe Tree, wisteria, Bald Cypress and Chinese Elm with winter storage shed. Bald cypress

fringetree.jpggardensunlimitedwisteria.jpggardensunlimitedemperor.jpggardensunlimitedbc.jpggardensunlimitedbcthread.jpgFringe Tree is not seen much as bonsai. This one is huge and the interior branch structure is awesome.

The wisteria is also large, and was being moved to a location where it won't swallow the garden since it's past flowering and is beginning to grow like the weed it is

The Chinese Elm is a very large tree that is a hassle to move into and out of winter storage--particularly in the early spring with late freezes and frosts. A purpose-built shelter is constructed around it in early winter. The shelter, made of cedar and translucent polycarbonate panels.

The bald cypress in the large stone basin (which is a very old Chinese dye basin) used to be in a plastic Walmart kiddie pool

The smaller bald cypress is a thread grafted knee done about 10 years ago.

I definitely want to visit this place soon... Here's another thread with more pics:

Unfortunately, they're not open to the public generally. They have shifted their business to Japanese garden design/installation.
