I have heard or read somewhere that multilpe triedents can be bound together and they will merge into one larger, thicker tree. My question is when doing this do they need to be debarked on the sides where they contact in order to get them to combine? Do you wrap them with flex tape or something? I assume that the roots need to be cut off on the overlapping sides as well? Any tips on ways to encourage them to graft into one tree? What do you do with the crowns? I am amazed at the things some folks have done with tridents, their grafting abilities is something else. Do nay other Japanese malpes share this tendency?
