I'm a bit late here but I will try anyway. I sowed some native english oaks, but they grow slowly so also some Quercus rubra.

There are thousands of accorns laying around here already prepared and starting to grow, so I didn't even need to stratify.

Today i pulled a few out to check the roots. When I was collecting the acorns, they already had a taproot which I cut so now I cut the roots for the second time on a few.
