Took a little off-road trip up high (7800') just to look around and see beautiful country out the back door. Lodgepole pines, White Bark pines. Ponderosa pines, Doug firs, Subalpine firs, Englemann spruce etc all around. To late to collect but always looking and marking this time of year.
The one tree (4') with the 1-1.5" purple cones has me a bit stumped. I am assuming it is a Sub-Alpine fir but have not seen one like that before.
I feel very lucky/blessed to have this area so close to me. Wish there was a club close with knowledgeable people. No club, no people where I live.
