TPL monday morning, FALL in NEW ENGLAND

back on the clock, yewwww!!

so it hit 50* in southeastern MA yesterday, windows open in evening, had to put blanket on curled up dog w short hair
next few nights, 47* (days warming to low 70s)

the two step begins after work for ficus, trop hibiscus, bougs, navel orange, succulents

prepped some space in my south windows, should be a nice evening after work with some MNF, post dog longboard run and workout

leafs are falling and changing here, buds are tightening, and i threw a pumkin last year in my compost pile and have a 20' long pumpkin patch next to my house
got these two off the vine over the weekend



aside from some larger plants mentioned above, i have to setup a tray of ficus from these props with grow lights
ill prob 2 step them a few days in the mornings coming up

the maples, hardy hibiscus here will live in garage in a month or two

Love this time of year! We picked up our pumpkins are the grocery store yesterday

I’ve already moved the buttonwood to my south sunroom window, where the ficus will join soon. I’ll let those stay out on the bench into the mid 40s.

good to know...might have actually prompted me to leave the ficus out through 3 nights of 47* because our days coming up are sunny and hi 60s low 70s...
hmmm

the bougainvillea trop hibiscus and orange im thinking i better play it safe with. the ficus are mostly small, so i wonder if should risk it.
ill have them on trays and prob 2 step them, because i have learned its better safe than sorry in life in general for awhile now

We had a couple mornings in the 40's last week, but today it's 90. Not ready to make the move inside yet.

Leaves haven't started to turn much here at 1000 ft of elevation. Only a few soft maples are getting red. I have a hawthorn in a pot that I collected this spring and it is dropping some leaves now. I see the tamaracks in the swamps looking a bit yellow, although my large ones haven't changed yet. We look for peak fall foliage around Oct 10th around our house. Sadly, that glorious time is all too short.
