Thuja from seed development

This thuja sprouted as a self-seeded plant in a pot where I was growing another tree. It could have been removed like other weeds, but I decided to give it a chance to live. I think it was a good decision — after about 10 years it’s starting to look really good. I won’t go into much detail; the following pictures show its development. Hope you like it ;)

Nice, I have one too but I'm still unsure of how to work the pads on these.
Me too. Just some trimming here and there but no pinching. I do not know if they respond well for pinching 🤔
 
Mine responds to pinching by throwing an entire frond out from wherever. It's not pretty.
 
Same here. When I tried it, the foliage pads lost vigor and it produced shoots from undesired locations, like crotch growth.

Now I am aiming for typical thuja growth habit with loosen foliage pads. Its the best way to go with its nature. Just trimming foliage too much hanging down.
