This is an Oak tree that grew near my driveway. No, I didn’t stick a branch tip in the ground. I have watched this grow for most of the summer. I think I will dig it up and pot it next spring. Maybe it will stay unusual.

Probably still has the acorn still attached to it, nothing unusual really, typical oak sapling. They grow pretty quickly. Transplant it to a safe spot in the yard and let it fatten up.

The reason I found it unusual was that it had just one leaf and it seems to be coming straight out of the trunk. Most of the others have 2 or 3 leaves coming out the side.
