While I do get some fungi on my trees, I must confess this was found in the woods and brought home moss and all to see if it would continue growing. It did a bit and lasted over a week. Plus it just looked cool in the garden

Could be some kind of cantharellus, but since it's hard to tell without knowing the spore color, it could be yellow oyster mushroom or a lost ompholatus even.Trying to remember the gentleman on here from Canada that had a fungi grow chamber... thought he and others might like this. Old oak that had fallen last year in the hurricane, the light highlighted this in a way pictures do no justice- stunning. If love if anyone had an ID
Funny you bring that up, I had recently seen some of this fly mind control fungus recently in my garden. This is an ibu nishiki cork bark JM, that died of fungal infections. On the ends of the dead branches, 5 or so fungi flies were dead and releasing their spores. Im not sure if there's a connection there beyond the branches providing a clear vantage point for the fungus, but coincidencental nonetheless.Could be some kind of cantharellus, but since it's hard to tell without knowing the spore color, it could be yellow oyster mushroom or a lost ompholatus even.
Today I found some spores!

A fly, eaten from the inside by a fungus. It's now throwing out spores all over the window.
