Thank you Leo, pretty much what I was thinking. After they have had enough time under 45 to go dormant, will I still need to water when the soil is feeling a little dry? What does watering look like when dormant?
@rockm and @namnhi pretty much covered it. If in summer I was watering daily or every other day, in winter it might be weekly for conifers and once a month for deciduous. Stick your finger into the pots and feel for moisture. That is more reliable than any moisture meter.
Thank you all for the info. My thinking was along the same lines as everyone but it was nice to have a little reassurance ! I don’t have access to any clubs or “mentors” so I’m reliant on books and internet which can be iffy at best. Thanks again!
