Hi, I just bought a boxwood from a nursery and I am looking for some tips on where to go with styling it.

Welcome Aboard Bonsai Nut!

Gosh, that depends on what you like, the stage and health of the tree and what the whole tree looks like top to bottom.

Couple hints to help
- Please help us help you by adding your approximate location and USDA Plant Hardiness Zone. Do this by double tapping the icon atop the page. Tap account details, scroll down and enter these data in the appropriate areas and save.
- Show entire tree from multiple angles (4 is good) on each request for styling… be sure to include the nebari in images.
- Cut back so only two branches are at each fork.
- Consider working the roots to develop a good nebari before major styling. If a good root system is developed it will be much easier to develop secondary

Cheers
DSD sends

Just to restate what DSD said in my way of thinking, you should wait until you repot before you decide what style of tree it will be. Based on how the surface roots and base of the trunk look you will decide what will be the front of the tree. You can change branches way easier than you can the base of the tree so you will pick the best front that has the best base.
