Hallo I have started this new little tree. Have been nursing a brench cutting, I have been given from friends grandma, which have saved it from throwing away. First two years it has been growin "wild" in bucket to make stronger root system later repoted to get better angle and after 3 years of chilling first shaped and wired. Nowdays it is its second wiring and I hope not the last. :D (I hope it is written correctly in englis).

Learn to clean junipers.
  • Remove foliage that's hanging down.
  • Remove foliage that's weak
    • Poor color
    • Skinny and unramified
    • Floppy
  • Remove foliage that's growing from the crotches of branches.
Leave tip growth alone until you see whips/runners on the ends. Then it's time to do cutback.

(Your english is perfectly understandable.)

Thank you for ypur advices.
I can make some more work on foliage.
These little branches in the crotches are there for future use, they will replace the bigger ones with bad foliage in few years.

That's a caveat I should've included. Sorry about that. Remove any crotch growth that you know you want eventually be cutting back to. Something closer to that is what I should've said.

Great job on both the tree and English for the post.
You've made the most of the tree you have.
There's plenty of time to arrange the smaller twigs as they develop.

That may seem like a long time for a ne bonsai person but most of my Juniper cuttings spend 10-15 years growing wild to develop a thicker trunk before I start the process of making bonsai.
Hope you have made some more cuttings for the next generation of juniper bonsai at your house.

Hallo, that cutting was not made by me and the tree grown on its own for serious amout of years in bucket. Friends grandpa used to own garden center many years back (before serious illnes) and this stick/tree was growing in same bucket all the time. They want to burn it, but I took it home to "play". But at the time I got it has been sewere neglaced, with no many vigorous parts.
