Soil change. Can i water every day?

I water "on a schedule" only during the summer, when I water every morning, and if the temperature is above 90 fahrenheit then I'll water again in the afternoon, apart from that all my trees have a chopstick in their pots, you can just pull and check it like a dipstick, if the end of the stick is still wet, no need to water

Yes the chopstick move is what im going to run. I just changed all soil to 50% akadama 50% pummice.

Because I use a very free draining mix, I find it almost impossible to over water during the growing season and some trees may require it twice a day. When trees are dormant though it is another issue requiring chopsticks in almost every pot, especially those in the greenhouse or stored in the garage.

The beauty of akadama is it changes color from wet to dry, when turns from brown/wet to tan/dry on the surface, simply dig down a bit (1/2'-3/4' or 1-2 cm) with your finger and if its still brown your fine
to skip watering, if its tan water away.
So does a chopstick and they’re free with your Chinese food.
